Um hey guys! I haven't really been on here much lately. I'm thinking of trying to start anew, in a sense. Now I won't be deleting anything or stuff like that.. but I did clean out my messages folder, so I'm sorry if I don't get back to any comments with questions in them. I maaaay try to clean out my watch list as well, not sure how much work that'll be.

But yeah! I'm trying really hard to recover from art block, get some things finished, and draw more in general! I miss posting here, really. As nice as Tumblr is, it's just not the same.

I wanted to delete all of my DA journals... but all those old embarrassing ones from 2004 are kind of charming, I don't know if I could bear to delete them! Same with a lot of my old art... maybe I'll store just a few things that I don't like.

After a long time, I'm publicly open for commissions again.

HOWEVER, there is a catch. I'm only going to be taking Deviantart-based commissions (As in, commissions I receive from users here) one at a time.
This method will ease up my workload and keep me low on stress.

Yeah so, how it works is that once the slot is full, it will only open again when I've finished the commission in question. I will not reserve slots, and everyone has an equal chance once the slot is open again, even if you were the second person to ask last time. I will frequently update this journal when I finish one, so keep your eye out if you want something! I reserve the right to refuse to draw whatever it is you ask. I will post the finished work here unless you specifically state otherwise.

EDIT: Oh, it looks like there IS auto-level if you set the rules to "flat rule", but you can only use three pokemon and it only levels DOWN to 50, not up. So if you would like to battle that way, that's fine! I'm more eager to use my White pokemon, though.

Anyway, I'm back from my two-month "vacation" in Florida. I put vacation in quotes because, it was more like me living in my boyfriend's crummy apartment for two months and taking on cleaning duties. But! I had a lot of fun and I miss being there already.

But now that I'm back, this should mean more art productivity out of me!

Also I have Pokemon White! I only have one badge though cus I've been slaking off lol. I should draw my Japanese Pokemon Black team too..

I'm still taking commissions, but I've got a bit of a backlog and a lot of KS work to catch up on, so if you want one it's gonna be a bit slow. Feel free to inquire, though!

-Rambling-
- Four things I love right now are Anpanman, Mario, Katawa Shoujo and Pretty Cure! I want to draw a lot of fanart but I've got so many other things to do DX

- Speaking of Precure, ep 23 was awesome and I'm excited to have Itsuki as part of the team. She's really so pretty. I also pre-ordered the Banpresto Cure Marine and Cure Blossom figures! They won't be released until February though ;_;

- I want to draw Anpanman stuff. It is a baby-kid show but I love it so much. I want to make a childrens' cartoon like that some day. Apparently the guy who happens to voice Katsudonman will be at Otakon and I am sad I probably can't go. GET HIS AUTOGRAPH MOMO. But I already went to AX so I can't be spoiled, can I?

- Gotta draw a lot of nice pictures. I want to have a table at AX again, but with more prints and stuff to show off! And maybe a mini dvd player for my animations because my laptop couldn't last too long without any power. I gotta do more polished stuff as well.

- Also AX-wise, sorry for taking so long scanning those commissions! I'll get those done tomorrow.

There's been a sorta-recent trend with people my age (~18-25) and it's becoming a bit of an annoyance. I see it in various old fandoms like Pokemon and cartoons in general, but the sentiment has been cropping up in almost every aspect imaginable. That notion is:

"Things were better when I was your age."

I don't know about that, personally.
It's a very strange thing, because people who do this seem to be taking pride in sounding like crotchety old geezers waving their canes from the porch. I don't really get it! Yes, things like cartoons and media go through "phases". However I am fully aware that most cartoons from the 80s were pure garbage, cartoons from the 90s were more creative but had mixed in bad ones, early 00's were okay, and cartoons today continue to be a mix of uninspired mediocrity and those that have their own flavor. To say that things were better just because I was a starry-eyed youth at the time is silly. Most people don't seem to separate nostalgia from objective understanding.

No, things are never going to say the same, but change comes with both problems AND positives. It'd be naive to say that there weren't certain times when being a child was more preferable. Heck, compared to hundreds of years ago, we're actually ALLOWED to have a childhood now! (this also comes with the problem of young adults nowadays being slow to take responsibility) But some things are just so petty to even bring up! No, I didn't have internet in my house until I was 14, and yes I only had 150 pokemon. Does that make my experience better than my 10yo cousin who's been playing net games since he was 7 and had his first experience with Fire Red at 9? I... don't really think so.

But I suppose people like to agree with anything that makes a trendy catchphrase.

- Color $30+ (highly varies with coloring style)

DIGITAL ART ONLY
Adding a BG will generally double the price or so. For extra characters I tend to add half (not counting bg), like a second sketch character would be +$5 and an extra character in a colored image would be more like +$15. 3 Characters max. If you want an image to be large enough for print do tell me! I can't print things for you though, sorry. Unlike the mini commissions, I'm hoping to do more colored and finished work. It would really help me out!

The ranges really depend on complexity and difficulty. Here's some price examples from random pics of mine:
$8 (one character, sketch)
$30 (three simple characters, ink)
$35 (one simple character, digital painted, simple bg)
$20 (one character, flat colors)

I take Paypal, upfront. If it's something above $50, "half now, half when it's done" is fine too! I WILL BE DOING THESE AS FAST AS POSSIBLE <3

Haven't made a real entry in a while!

School is nearly done, just a few days next week left! My final animation projects are basically done, and all I have to do for Geography is study the last few chapters for the test!
